Tari Eason is coming off his rookie year in the NBA, where he appeared in 82 regular season games for the Houston Rockets.

The 22-year-old averaged 9.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest while shooting 44.8% from the field and 34.3% from the three-point range.

However, he is now dealing with an injury and is out for the next two-to-three weeks.

Via Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle: "Tari Eason to be out for two to three weeks with a stress reaction in his left leg, Ime Udoka"

Eason was initially the 17th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft after two seasons of college basketball playing for Cincinnati and LSU.

During his final season in college, he averaged 16.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest while shooting 52.1% from the field and 35.9% from the three-point range in 33 games.

The Rockets will play their first game of the 2023-24 regular season on October 25 when they visit the Orlando Magic in Florida.

They are coming off a year where they were the 14th seed in the Western Conference with a 22-60 record and missed the NBA playoffs (and play-in tournament).

The franchise was a contender for many years when they had 2018 MVP James Harden.

However, they traded Harden to the Brooklyn Nets in 2021 and have missed the NBA playoffs for each of the previous three seasons.

That said, the Rockets made many additions over the offseason, such as signing veterans Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks.
