Key Player Ejected From Warriors-Kings Game
On Monday evening, the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings are playing Game 2 of their first-round playoff series in Sacramento, California.
The Kings have a 1-0 lead, so a victory in Monday's game gives them a commanding 2-0 lead heading into Game 3.
During the fourth quarter, four-time All-Star Draymond Green got ejected for a flagrant 2 foul on Domantas Sabonis.
Green exits with eight points, four rebounds, five assists and one steal in 31 minutes of playing time.
Losing him down the stretch of the game is a disadvantage for the Warriors because he is their best defender.
The former Michigan State star had averages of 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.0 steals per contest during the regular season.
In Game 1, the Kings defeated the Warriors 126-123, and Green had four points, nine rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and one block.
While the Warriors have won the NBA Championship four times in the previous eight seasons, they have looked vulnerable this year.
They finished as the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot) and had a 44-38 record.
That said, the Warriors went just 11-30 in the 41 games they played on the road away from the Chase Center in San Francisco.
Green is in his 11th season in the NBA (all with the Warriors) and is one of the greatest second-round picks of all time.
As for the Kings (48-34), they are the third seed and in the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
