Klay Thompson's Bold Statement After Warriors-Bulls Game
On Friday evening, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Chicago Bulls (at the United Center) by a score of 140-131.
Five-time NBA All-Star Klay Thompson had one of his best games of the season and led the team with 30 points, six rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block while shooting 9/19 from the field and 7/15 from the three-point range.
Following the game, Thompson spoke to the Warriors on NBCS television broadcast.
Thompson: "We know when we get whole and we gotta hold down the fort while some of our best players are out. We can be as good as anybody. We've beat the best teams in the league; we've competed with teams down to the wire. We understand that it's not gonna be easy this year; it's not gonna be easy every season. We're gonna have to fight for wins every night. But we know the sky's the limit for a team like this. We just gotta keep going. We can't be discouraged because of our record. We think we're better than that."
With the victory over the Bulls, the Warriors improved to 18-20 in their first 38 games, which has them as the 12th seed in the Western Conference.
They are 4-6 over their last ten games and 7-9 in the 16 games they have played on the road away from the Chase Center in San Francisco.
Following Friday's game, the Warriors will now visit Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday evening in Wisconsin.
