Klay Thompson's Honest Reaction To Lakers-Warriors Game
On Saturday evening, Klay Thomson and the Golden State Warriors lost to the Los Angeles Lakers by a score of 145-144 in double-overtime at the Chase Center.
Thompson finished his night with 24 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals while shooting 9/24 from the field and 6/17 from the three-point range in 47 minutes of playing time.
After the tough loss, the four-time NBA Champion shared an honest reaction when he met with the media (h/t Warriors on NBCS).
Thompson: "A lot of games have stung this year. We've had a lot of heartbreaking losses. But I'm gonna continue to be optimistic along with Steve. It's a long season, so we know that we can be even better. No need to get discouraged with plenty of basketball left."
Thompson has had an up-and-down season and is currently averaging 17.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 42.1% from the field and 38.5% from the three-point range in 42 games.
He has scored 21+ points in four out of his previous six games and is one of the best shooting guards of all time, so it's fair to assume that he can still be counted on as the team's second star.
That said, the Warriors will need to turn things around soon.
They are 19-24 through their first 43 games, which has them outside of the playoff picture (12th seed).
Following the loss to Los Angeles, the Warriors will remain at home for a matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday.
