Klay Thompson Made NBA History In Pelicans-Warriors Game

Klay Thompson moved up on the NBA's all-time scoring list during Tuesday's game.

On Tuesday evening, the Golden State Warriors defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 120-109 at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

Five-time All-Star Klay Thompson finished the night with 17 points, two rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in 34 minutes of playing time.

During the game, he made NBA history as he moved up on the all-time scoring list.

The former Washington State star came into the night tied with David West (14,034) for 184th on the list.

By scoring 17 points, he moved ahead of West and Hall of Famer Manu Ginóbili (14,043) to move to 182nd.

The following two players for Thompson (14,051) to pass will be Jerry Lucas (14,053) and Dave DeBusschere (14,053), who are both tied for 180th.

Since he is three points away, the 33-year-old will likely be able to move to 180th on Friday night when the Warriors host the San Antonio Spurs at the Chase Center.

Thompson is averaging 21.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest in 65 games while shooting 43.3% from the field and 40.8% from the three-point range.

He was the 11th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and has been with the Warriors for his entire career.

Right now, the Warriors are the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot) in the Western Conference with a 40-37 record in 77 games.

They are 6-4 in their last ten games and an outstanding 31-8 in the 39 games they have hosted on their home floor.
