Klay Thompson Made NBA History In Warriors-Rockets Game
UPDATE: Klay Thompson finished the game with 29 points and also moved ahead of Carlos Boozer (13,976) for 185th on the all-time scoring list.
On Monday night, the Golden State Warriors are in Texas, taking on the Houston Rockets.
The Warriors came into the night on a three-game losing streak but had a 55-50 lead at halftime.
During the first half, five-time All-Star Klay Thompson made NBA history, as he has now moved up on the all-time scoring list.
He came into the night with 13,960 points, which ranked 187th on the list, and he only needed nine points to pass his teammate Andre Iguodala (13,968) to move to 186th.
In addition, Thompson will have a chance to move ahead of Carlos Boozer (13,976) for 185th before the end of the night.
He came into the matchup with averages of 21.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest in 60 games (while shooting 40.6% from the three-point range).
The four-time NBA Champion was the 11th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and has spent his entire career with Golden State.
They have been to the NBA Finals in six out of the last eight seasons (and won four titles in that span).
That said, it's been an up-and-down season for the defending champions.
They are 36-36 in 72 games, which has them as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
On the road, the Warriors are 7-29 in 36 games away from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
Following Monday's showdown with the Rockets, they will face off with the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday for the final game of their five-game road trip.
