Klay Thompson Made NBA History In Wizards-Warriors Game

On Friday evening, the Golden State Warriors are hosting the Washington Wizards in San Francisco.
During the game, Klay Thompson made NBA history by moving up on the all-time scoring list.
Thompson has now moved ahead of Purvis Short (14,607) for 161st on the list.
Following Short, the next players for him to pass will be Jamaal Wilkes (14,644) and Jason Richardson (14,644).

Thompson came into the evening with averages of 17.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest while shooting 41.9% from the field and 37.6% from the three-point range in 26 games.
He has struggled at times this season but is playing much better as of late.
Most recently, the Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics (in overtime) by a score of 132-126, and Thompson had 24 points, four rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block.

The Warriors are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 13-14 record in their first 27 games.
They are 5-5 over their last ten games and in the middle of a three-game winning streak.
Following the Wizards, the Warriors will play the second night of a back-to-back when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.

Thompson is in his 11th season playing in the NBA (all with the Warriors) and has helped lead the franchise to four NBA Championships and six Finals appearances.
He is among the greatest shooters ever and has career averages of 19.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 45.4% from the field and 41.5% from the three-point range.
