On Thursday evening, the Golden State Warriors are playing the Houston Rockets (on the road) in Texas.

Klay Thompson has had an excellent game and put up 29 points, two rebounds and three assists while shooting 11/15 from the field and 7/11 from the three-point range in his first 26 minutes of playing time.

The five-time All-Star also made NBA history by moving ahead of Hall of Famer Sam Jones (15,411) for 142nd on the all-time scoring list.

Following Jones, the next player for Thompson to pass will be Bob Dandridge (15,530).

Thompson came into the evening with averages of 17.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest while shooting 42.4% from the field and 38.0% from the three-point range in 71 games.

The Warriors are the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 41-34 record in 75 games.

They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a five-game winning streak.

Following their showdown with the Rockets, the Warriors will remain in Texas when they visit Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Friday evening.

Thompson was the 11th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Washington State.

He has spent his entire 11-year career with Golden State and helped lead them to four NBA Championships since the 2015 season.

His career averages are 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 45.3% from the field and 41.2% from the three-point range in 787 games.
