Klay Thompson Makes NBA History In Warriors-Blazers Game

Klay Thompson is known for being one of the best three-point shooter in NBA history and on Sunday, the final day of the regular season, Thompson made NBA history.
Entering Sunday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Golden State Warriors sharpshooter needed five threes to reach 300 made three-pointers on the season and in the first quarter, Thompson made five threes, becoming the third player in NBA history to make at least 300 threes in a season.
Klay Thompson, who leads the NBA in 3-point field goals this season, is now the third player in NBA history to hit 300 threes in a single season (Stephen Curry four times, James Harden once). Thompson's 300 threes are the sixth-most ever in a single season.

Returning from ACL and Achilles injuries last season after missing both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, Thompson came back and helped lead the Warriors to their fourth title in the last eight seasons.
Since the start of the 2014-15 season, the Warriors have made the NBA Finals in every season that Thompson has been healthy.
Entering Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers, the Warriors find themselves 43-38, tied with the Los Angeles Clippers in the standings and looking for a victory to avoid the Play-In Tournament in the Western Conference.
Should the Clippers win and the Warriors also win, Golden State will claim the 6-seed in the West and play the Sacramento Kings in the first-round of the playoffs. If the Clippers lose and the Warriors win, Golden State will claim the 5-seed in the conference and play the Phoenix Suns in the first-round of the playoffs.
