On Wednesday evening, the Golden State Warriors will host the Los Angeles Lakers for Game 5 of their second-round playoff at the series at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

During the game, Klay Thompson can make NBA history by moving up on the all-time Playoff scoring list.

The five-time All-Star has 3,014 career Playoff points, which ranks 28th on the list.

He is just nine points away from moving ahead of Hall of Famer James Worthy (3,022) for 27th.

Through the first 11 games of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Thompson has averages of 20.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest while shooting 39.0% from the three-point range.

The former Washington State star has scored at least nine points in all 11 games, so he will likely pass Worthy on Wednesday.

Following Worthy, the next player for Thompson to pass will be Manu Ginobili (3,054).

The Warriors lost Game 4 in Los Angeles by a score of 104-101, so they are down 3-1 and on the verge of elimination.

At home, they have been excellent this season, going 36-10 in the 46 games they have hosted in San Francisco.

While the Warriors have won four NBA Championships in the previous eight seasons, they have looked extremely beatable this season.

If they can win on Wednesday, they will force a Game 6 back in Los Angeles on Friday.

The winner of the series will advance to the Western Conference Finals and face off against either the Phoenix Suns or the Denver Nuggets.
