LeBron James Is 14 Games Away From NBA History
On Thursday night, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Golden State Warriors in California.
James has played in 1,411 career regular season games, which has him ninth on the all-time games played list.
Therefore, he is just 14 games away from passing Kevin Willis (who played 1,424 games over his career) for eighth place.
At 38, the four-time NBA Champion is showing no signs of slowing down and is currently averaging 30.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and 7.0 assists per contest in 45 games.
He continues to move up on all-time lists and set new records, such as passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time scoring list earlier this month.
On Sunday night, he played in his 19th All-Star Game, which is now the most of all time.
Many consider James to be the greatest player ever, and he is without question a future first-ballot Hall of Famer and one of the ten best players in history.
That said, the Lakers went just 33-49 in 2022 and missed the NBA Playoffs for the second time in the four seasons James has been on the team.
Right now, they are the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a 27-32 record in 59 games.
Despite their poor record, the west has been extremely close, and the Lakers are only 2.0 games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder for the tenth seed (the final play-in tournament spot) and 3.5 games back of the Dallas Mavericks for the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot).
