LeBron James Sends Out Viral Tweet To Austin Reaves
Austin Reaves is coming off a fantastic season, where he averaged 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest while shooting 52.9% from the field and 39.8% from the three-point range for the Los Angeles Lakers.
This summer, the former Oklahoma star is playing for Team USA and recently had nine points, four rebounds and four assists in their 117-74 victory over Puerto Rico.
During the game, Reaves' teammate LeBron James sent out a tweet that had over 38,000 likes and 3.6 million impressions in less than 24 hours.
James tweeted: "A-R you so COLD man!!! 🫡🙏🏾👑 #TeamUSA🇺🇸 "
After the game, Reaves spoke to the FS1 broadcast about James.
Reaves: "That's my guy. I've learned a lot from him in the past two years. It feels good when he kind of validates that you can actually play. It's been a special two years, and hopefully, we can go win a championship this year."
Reaves initially went undrafted in 2021 but was one of the best role players in the NBA last season.
Over the offseason, the 25-year-old became a restricted free agent, and Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported (last month) that his new deal with the Lakers is for $56 million.
The Lakers are coming off a year where they were the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 43-39 record.
They beat the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors in the first two rounds of the NBA playoffs, but lost to the Denver Nuggets in the Conference Finals.
