LeBron James' Shot Over Victor Wembanyama Is Going Viral In Lakers-Spurs Game
On Friday evening, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are in Texas, facing off against the San Antonio Spurs.
During the second quarter, James made a three-pointer over rookie Victor Wembanyama, which is going viral on social media.
Wembanyama was guarding James, who took one dribble and a step back before drilling the shot (YouTube clip via House of Highlights).
James did not play in Wednesday's 122-119 victory over the Spurs, so this is his first time going up against Wembanyama.
The 19-year-old was the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft this summer, 20 years after James was selected with the first pick in the 2003 draft.
The Spurs won the game by a score of 129-115, and Wembanyama finished his night with 13 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks while shooting 5/13 from the field and 1/2 from the three-point range in 31 minutes of playing time.
With the victory, the Spurs snapped an 18-game losing streak, and they are now 4-20 in their first 24 games, which has them as the 15th seed in the Western Conference.
They will play their next game on Sunday when they host the New Orleans Pelicans.
Meanwhile, James had 23 points, seven rebounds, 14 assists and two steals while shooting 7/17 from the field and 2/6 from the three-point range.
The Lakers fell to 15-11 in their first 26 games, which has them as the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
They will play their next game on Monday when they host the New York Knicks.
