BREAKING: LeBron James' Updated Status For Timberwolves-Lakers Game
On Sunday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Minnesota Timberwolves in California.
For the game, the Lakers will be without their best player, as four-time NBA Champion LeBron James has been ruled out.
Via Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium: "Lakers' LeBron James is out tonight vs. Minnesota due to flu-like symptoms."
James has had another outstanding season and still remains among the best players in the NBA at 39.
He is currently averaging 25.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 53.6% from the field and 41.3% from the three-point range in 68 games.
The Lakers are the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 45-33 record in 78 games.
They have gone 9-1 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a four-game winning streak.
Most recently, the Lakers defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers by a score of 116-97.
James had 24 points, five rebounds, 12 assists, one steal and one block while shooting 10/18 from the field and 1/5 from the three-point range in 36 minutes of playing time.
Following the Timberwolves, the Lakers will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they host Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors.
As for the Timberwolves, they are the the second seed in the Western Conference with a 53-24 record in 77 games.
They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games.
Following Los Angeles, the Timberwolves will host the Washington Wizards on Tuesday evening.
