On Sunday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center in New York.

The Lakers had control for the entire game and won by a score of 116-104.

Four-time NBA Champion LeBron James was brilliant and led the way with 40 points, seven rebounds and five assists while shooting 13/17 from the field and 9/10 from the three-point range in 37 minutes of playing time.

He also made Lakers history.

Via NBA History: "LeBron James becomes the 2nd Laker to make 9 3-pointers in multiple games, joining Kobe Bryant (4x).

James is the first Laker to do it while shooting 90% from 3-point (9-10)."

Despite turning 39 years old in December, James has had another incredible season and is averaging 25.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.1 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 53.3% from the field and 41.6% from the three-point range in 65 games.

With the victory, the Lakers improved to 42-33 in 75 games, which has them as the ninth seed in the Western Conference.

They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games and will now travel to Canada for a showdown with the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday evening.

As for the Nets, they dropped to 29-46 in 75 games, which has them as the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference.

They have gone 3-7 over their last ten games and will play their next game on Monday evening when they visit Pascal Siakam and the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis.
