BREAKING: Los Angeles Clippers Finalizing Trade To Acquire Rockets' Eric Gordon
Looking to upgrade their roster talent in order to make a push for a title, the Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly finalizing a trade with the Houston Rockets to acquire veteran guard Eric Gordon, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Shams Charania: "The Houston Rockets are finalizing deal to send Eric Gordon to the Los Angeles Clippers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."
Eric Gordon is a veteran player that has been on the trade block for quite some time and the Rockets have been holding off on a trade until they could find the value that best suited them.
As for the Clippers, the need to upgrade their backcourt talent has been relevant for weeks leading up to the trade deadline and after recently acquiring Bones Hyland from the Denver Nuggets, they now add Gordon to their arsenal.
Playing in a total of 47 games with the Rockets this season, Gordon has averaged 13.1 points and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 34.7 percent from three-point range.
Being a part of a handful of championship-caliber teams through the years in Houston, Gordon is a veteran that joins one of the oldest rosters in the entire league that is contending for a title this season.
Drafted seventh overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers, Gordon actually spent the first three seasons of his career with the Clippers.
