UPDATE: The Los Angeles Lakers have officially waived Quinndary Weatherspoon.  

UPDATE: The Los Angeles Lakers have officially signed Quinndary Weatherspoon. 

Quinndary Weatherspoon most recently played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season when he was a member of the Golden State Warriors.   

That season, he averaged 2.7 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 57.1% from the field in 11 games.  

On Thursday, Chris Haynes of the NBA on TNT and Bleacher Report reported that Weatherspoon is signing a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers

Via Haynes: "Los Angeles Lakers are signing guard Quinndary Weatherspoon, his agent Daniel Hazan tells @NBAonTNT@BleacherReport. Weatherspoon averaged 15.5 points, shot 52 percent and 40 percent from distance in two NBA preseason games while playing for Israeli club Maccabee Ra’anana."

Weatherspoon was initially the 49th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and has played three seasons in the NBA for the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors. 

His career average is 2.1 points per contest while shooting 45.2% from the field in 42 regular season games.   

In addition to his time in the NBA, he has also played in the G League. 

Over 57 regular season games, Weatherspoon has career averages of 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 48.6% from the field and 31.6% from the three-point range (he has also appeared in nine Showcase Cup games, two Exhibition games and two G League playoff games). 

The Lakers will play their first game of the 2023-24 regular season when they visit Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in Colorado on October 24.  

Last year, they lost to the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.
