Luka Doncic Has An Unbelievable Highlight On Saturday Night
On Saturday night, the Dallas Mavericks are facing off with the Sacramento Kings for the second consecutive game.
They beat the Kings 122-114 on Friday night, but Luka Doncic was not in the lineup.
After missing four games in a row with a heel injury, the All-Star forward returned to action in Saturday's matchup.
Therefore, the duo of Kyrie Irving (and Doncic) got to make their debut together (Irving was acquired in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets earlier in the week).
During the game, Irving missed a long three-pointer, but Doncic was there for a remarkable putback dunk.
The duo of Doncic and Irving has the potential to make the Mavs a contender for the 2023 NBA Championship.
In 2022, Doncic led the Mavs to the Western Conference Finals (for the first time since 2011) without another All-Star.
Irving won the NBA Championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and has experience playing with other superstars such as LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, James Harden and Kevin Durant.
In his first two games with the Mavs, Irving is averaging 24.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists per contest (while shooting 43.8% from the three-point range).
He is in his 12th season in the NBA and has also played for the Boston Celtics (in addition to the Cavs, Nets and Mavs).
Doncic came into the night averaging 33.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 8.2 assists per contest.
The Mavs are the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 31-26 record in 57 games.
