Magic Johnson Reacts To Los Angeles Lakers Getting Eliminated
On Monday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets by a score of 113-111 in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals (on their home floor).
With the loss, the Lakers have been swept and eliminated from the NBA Playoffs, while the Nuggets will advance to the 2023 NBA Finals.
After the game, Hall of Famer (and Lakers Legend) Magic Johnson sent out several tweets.
In one of them, he spoke optimistically about the Lakers' future.
Johnson: "Laker Nation it’s a couple things we now know…we have the right Coach with Darvin Ham, two superstars in LeBron and Anthony Davis, and emerging stars in Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura. Hopefully Rob Pelinka will have an outstanding offseason and build on this Playoff run."
Johnson has been very active on Twitter during the Playoffs and frequently shares his opinions after games.
In addition to being one of their best players ever, the five-time NBA Champion has also had stints as the head coach and President of Basketball Operations of the Lakers.
LeBron James finished the night with a game-high 40 points to go with ten rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 48 minutes of playing time (he played the whole game).
Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 30 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, one steal and three blocks in 45 minutes.
The Lakers will now enter the offseason, while the Nuggets will face off against either the Miami Heat or the Boston Celtics in the Finals (the Heat lead the series 3-0).
