On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers secured the seventh seed in the Western Conference by defeating the New Orleans Pelicans 110-106.

LeBron James, D'Angelo Russell and Anthony Davis all scored 20+ points.

After the game, Lakers legend (and Basketball Hall of Famer) Magic Johnson sent out two posts on X.

Johnson's first post: "NBA fans all over the world, this is what we all wanted! The World Champion Denver Nuggets vs my Los Angeles Lakers Get ready, because this will be must see TV!!"

Johnson's second post: "D-Lo Russell made the two plays to seal the victory for the Lakers! First, the steal and then the 3-pointer in the corner. LeBron had another strong game with 23/9/9, and AD was a monster on the boards! The Lakers were phenomenal at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to hold the Pelicans’ surge!"

The Lakers had an up-and-down season, but they are now in the middle of a three-game winning streak and will face off against the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Last season, the Lakers beat the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors in the first two rounds of the NBA playoffs.

However, they were swept by the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.

As for the Nuggets, they are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 57-25 record.

They have gone 6-4 over their last ten games, and are coming off a season where they beat the Miami Heat to win the NBA Championship.
