On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors 124-111 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

Malik Beasley was brilliant, finishing his night with 25 points, three rebounds, one assist and three steals in only 26 minutes of playing time.

The former Florida State star also shot an outstanding 9/16 from the field and 7/11 from the three-point range.

After the game, he spoke with Chris Haynes of the NBA on TNT and Bleacher Report

Haynes: "Now that you see this Lakers squad with the new assembled guys here, what are you guys capable of accomplishing this season?"

Beasley: "A Championship. We going for it all, ain't just going to the playoffs, and right now, we're not trying to be in a play-in. We trying to be a sixth seed or fifth seed. We know what we gotta do every game. It was a statement game tonight, and we gotta keep going."

Beasley was one of the players the Lakers acquired at the trading deadline (they also landed D'Angelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt in the same deal).

With the victory over the Warriors, they are now 28-32 in 60 games, which has them as the 13th seed in the Western Conference.

That said, the Lakers are only 1.5 games back of the final play-in tournament spot and 3.5 games behind the Dallas Mavericks for the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot).

They will play their next game on Sunday afternoon when they visit Luka Doncic and the Mavs in Texas.
