Shaquille Harrison is coming off a year where he played five regular season games for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Harrison averaged 8.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.2 steals per contest while shooting 41.7% from the field and 30.0% from the three-point range.

He also appeared in eight NBA playoff games with the Los Angeles Lakers (who made the Western Conference Finals).

This offseason, Harrison signed a deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, but it's now been announced that he has been waived

Via Grizzlies PR: "The Memphis Grizzlies today announced the team waived guard Shaquille Harrison, wing Adonis Arms and guard David Johnson to finalize its Opening Night roster for the 2023-24 regular season."

Harrison has played six seasons in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets. 

His career averages are 5.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 43.5% from the field and 28.1% from the three-point range 180 regular season games (he has also appeared in 17 NBA playoff games). 

As for the Grizzlies, they will play their first game of the 2023-24 regular season on October 25 when they host Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans in Tennessee.  

Last year, they were the second seed in the Western Conference (for the second straight season) with a 51-31 record. 

However, the Grizzlies lost in the first round of the NBA playoffs to the Los Angeles Lakers (in six games).
