BREAKING: Memphis Grizzlies Reportedly Sign Former OKC Thunder Player

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Memphis Grizzlies will sign Zavier Simpson.

On Saturday evening, the Memphis Grizzlies will face off against the Orlando Magic (in Florida).

Before the game, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Grizzlies will sign Zavier Simpson.

Via Wojnarowski: "ESPN Sources: The Memphis Grizzlies are signing guard Zavier Simpson on a 10-day contract. Simpson has averaged 19.5 points and 8.3 assists for Motor City of the G League. Grizzlies are also signing forward Maozinha Pereira to a second 10-day contract."

Simpson played his college basketball for Michigan and has appeared in four games in the NBA for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

During his short stint with Oklahoma City, Simpson averaged 11.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest while shooting 36.5% from the field and 12.5% from the three-point range.

The 27-year-old has spent a lot of time in the G League and has career averages of 16.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 48.6% from the field and 38.9% from the three-point range in 114 regular season games.

As for the Grizzlies, they have had a tough season and are the 13th seed in the Western Conference 24-49 record in 73 games.

They have gone 2-8 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a two-game losing streak.

Most recently, the Grizzlies lost to the Los Angeles Lakers by a score of 136-124.

Following the Magic, they will play their next game on Monday evening when they visit the Detroit Pistons in Michigan.
