Memphis Grizzlies Sign Former Raptors Player
The Memphis Grizzlies have played four preseason games and have gone 2-2.
They will play their final game of the preseason on Friday when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks in Wisconsin.
Since the preseason is almost over, teams have been making many roster moves, and on Wednesday, the Grizzlies announced a series of transactions.
Via Grizzlies PR: "The Memphis Grizzlies today announced that the team signed wing Adonis Arms and guard David Johnson. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. In addition, the Grizzlies waived guard Jason Preston and wing Timmy Allen."
Johnson was the 47th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and has played two games for the Raptors.
This past year, he played in the G League and averaged 10.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest while shooting 48.8% from the field and 38.1% from the three-point range in 29 regular season games (he also appeared in 13 Showcase Cup games).
Meanwhile, Arms went undrafted in 2022 and is coming off a year where he also played in the G League.
The 25-year-old averaged 13.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 47.1% from the field and 33.7% from the three-point range in 28 regular season games (he also appeared in 18 Showcase Cup games and one G League playoff game).
The Grizzlies will play their first game of the 2023-24 regular season on October 25 when they host Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans in Tennessee.
