Milwaukee Bucks Reportedly Interested In Trading For Former MVP
The NBA trading deadline is less than 48 hours away, so there will be a lot of rumors and deals in the near future.
On Tuesday evening, NBA reporter Marc Stein (of the Stein Line) reported that the Milwaukee Bucks are interested in New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose.
Via Stein: "Milwaukee has expressed trade interest in New York's Derrick Rose ahead of Thursday's 3 PM ET trade deadline, league sources say."
Rose was once a superstar many seasons ago, and he won the 2011 MVP Award while playing for the Chicago Bulls.
In more recent years, he has been an excellent backup guard, but this season his role has been diminished.
The former first-overall pick is averaging 5.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest in just 12.9 minutes of playing time.
He has only played in 26 games and recently fell out of the rotation to the point where he has not appeared in a game since January 4.
At 34 years old, there is no question that Rose could still provide value to a team in the right situation.
The Bucks are one of the best teams in the entire NBA and a legitimate contender for the 2023 NBA Championship.
Right now, they are the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 37-17 record in 54 games.
They are also 9-1 in their last ten games and in the middle of an eight-game winning streak.
In 2021, the Bucks won the NBA Championship, while last season, they lost in the second round of the playoffs.
