Minnesota Timberwolves Make Roster Move After Nets Game

The Minnesota Timberwolves have assigned a player to the G League.

On Thursday evening, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 96-94 (at Barclays Center in New York).

Wendell Moore Jr. did not play in the game, and on Friday, the team announced that he had been assigned to the G League.

Via Timberwolves PR: "NEWS: @Timberwolves assign guard Wendell Moore Jr. to G League affiliate @iawolves."

Moore Jr. was the 26th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and is in his second season in the league (all with the Timberwolves).

During his rookie season, he played 29 games and averaged 1.4 points per contest while averaging 5.3 minutes of playing time.

However, this season, the 22-year-old has only appeared in 11 games and is averaging 2.8 minutes of playing time.

Therefore, going to the G League will provide an excellent opportunity to get more time on the court.

Moore Jr. has spent a lot of time in the G League and (in four regular season games), he is averaging 18.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals per contest while shooting 35.9% from the field and 32.1% from the three-point range (he's also appeared in eight Showcase Cup Games).

As for the Timberwolves, they are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 32-13 record in their first 45 games.

They are 7-3 over their last ten games and are in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

Following the Nets, the Timberwolves will face off against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday in Texas.
