On Thursday afternoon, the Los Angeles Lakers announced that center Mo Bamba would be out for four weeks.

Bamba was traded (via the Orlando Magic) last month and is averaging 4.4 points 5.3 rebounds per contest in seven games with the Lakers.

Via The Lakers On Thursday: "Mo Bamba has been evaluated by Lakers team doctors and has been diagnosed with a high left ankle sprain. He will be re-evaluated in approximately four weeks."

With Bamba likely out for the remainder of the regular season, the Lakers could look to sign another big man.

Should The Lakers Consider LaMarcus Aldridge?

Aldridge is a free agent that hasn't played in an NBA game this season but averaged a solid 12.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest (on 55.0% shooting) for the Brooklyn Nets last season.

While the seven-time All-Star isn't the player he once was, he could still be a productive veteran to add to the Lakers' bench.

The Lakers currently have an open roster spot, so they would not need to waive anyone to sign the former Texas star.

His career averages are 19.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 blocks per contest in 1,076 games for the Nets, San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers.

The 37-year-old has also played in 72 NBA Playoffs games.

Last month, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Aldridge had a workout with the Dallas Mavericks, so he is clearly open to playing this season.

Right now, the Lakers are 32-34 in 66 games, which has them in a tie with the New Orleans Pelicans for the ninth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 7-3 in their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

On Friday night, the Lakers will host the Toronto Raptors in California.
