On Tuesday, All-Star point guard for the Portland Trail Blazers Damian Lillard spoke to the media.

Part of what Lillard said on Tuesday can be seen in a Tweet that is embedded below from Casey Holdahl (writer for the Trail Blazers).

According to Holdahl, Lillard said: “I’m not leaving Portland… Adversity is going to hit, there’s going to be tough times. So if it starts off rocky or if it starts out as a struggle I won’t be happy about it, nobody would. But I’m not going to jump ship and bail out when that happens.”

There had been rumors this past off-season about the potential of Lillard leaving the Blazers.

The quote from Lillard on Tuesday is great news for fans of the Trail Blazers.

However, they have now lost in the first round of the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.

Lillard is 31-years-old, so it's not like he has another decade of being an All-Star point guard left in him.

Ultimately, winning will be what quiets the noise on the outside, but for now it seems as if Lillard has every intention to stay where he has played his entire career.
