NBA Refs Miss Significant Call In Lakers-Suns Game
On Friday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns faced off in Arizona.
The Suns blew a second-half lead, and the Lakers were able to come away with a 122-119 victory.
However, the NBA has announced that they missed a significant call where Anthony Davis should have been whistled for a three-second violation (with less than two minutes left).
On the possession, the Lakers were able to take a 118-113 lead (after Cam Reddish made a three-pointer).
Via Gerald Bourguet of PHNX Sports: "NBA’s L2M report says there was an incorrect non-call on the possession where the Lakers got multiple offensive rebounds resulting in a Cam Reddish dagger 3 against the Suns. League says Anthony Davis should’ve been whistled for 3 seconds in the lane"
With the victory, the Lakers improved to 4-5 in their first nine games and snapped a three-game losing streak.
LeBron James led the way with 32 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block while shooting 11/17 from the field and 3/4 from the three-point range in 36 minutes of playing time.
They will play their next game against the Portland Trail Blazers (at home) on Sunday evening.
As for the Suns, they fell to 4-5 in their first nine games and are now just 1-3 in four games at home.
Kevin Durant led the team with 38 points, nine rebounds and five assists while shooting 13/27 from the field and 4/6 from the three-point range in 39 minutes of playing time.
They will play their next game (on Sunday) at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
