Landers Nolley II went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft this past summer but signed a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans.

However, the 23-year-old has now been waived, and the team signed Izaiah Brockington.

Nolley II spent this past season with Cincinnati and averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 44.7% from the field and 41.7% from the three-point range in 36 games.

He will be a player to watch in the G League, considering how strong his final season of college was for the Bearcats.

As for Brockington, he went undrafted in 2022 out of Iowa State.

This past year, he played two games in the G League for the Birmingham Squadron (G League affiliate of the Pelicans).

Both players will likely start the season in the G League with the Squadron, as deals like this happen a lot around this time of the year.

The Pelicans have gone 0-3 in their first three preseason games and will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they visit the Orlando Magic in Florida.

Last year, the Pelicans were the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 42-40 record.

They lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the play-in tournament, so they missed the 2023 NBA playoffs.

However, the Pelicans have a very talented roster that is led by Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and C.J. McCollum.

If they can stay healthy, the Pelicans will be a contender to make the 2024 playoffs.
