Jets' Aaron Rodgers Quotes NBA Champion In Cryptic Response About Future
Aaron Rodgers had been the talk of the NFL offseason as he entered his first year with the New York Jets after 18 seasons playing for the Green Bay Packers.
Unfortunately, the 2010 Super Bowl Champion got injured during their first drive of the season (the Jets still beat the Buffalo Bills 22-16 in overtime).
Rodgers is out for the rest of the season with a torn Achilles.
Recently, the 39-year-old did his first interview since the injury (on The Pat McAfee Show) and shared a quote that is going viral about his possible return.
McAfee: "What's happening? Are you coming back for the playoffs this year?"
Rodgers: "I'm not gonna make any of those statements. I don't feel like that's fair to myself."
A.J. Hawk: "Is it a possibility?"
Rodgers: "I think, as Kevin Garnett said, 'anything is possible.'"
Rodgers was quoting the infamous video of Garnett yelling, "Anything is possible" after the Boston Celtics won the 2008 NBA Championship over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Rodgers had successful surgery and shared a post to Instagram with an optimistic caption.
Via Rodgers: "Thank you to every person that has reached out, called, texted, DM’d, connected through a friend, etc. It has meant a ton to me, and I’ll try and get back to all of you soon 🥹❤️I’m completely heartbroken and moving through all of the emotions, but deeply touched and humbled by the support and love. 💔 Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I begin the healing process today. 🙏 ♾️ ❤️
The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again.
