Nikola Jokic's Dunk Is Going Viral In Rockets-Nuggets Game
On Wednesday evening, the Denver Nuggets are hosting the Houston Rockets in Colorado.
Nikola Jokic made his return to the starting lineup after missing Monday's victory over the Los Angeles Clippers in California.
During Wednesday's game, Jokic had a fantastic dunk that is getting a lot of attention on social media.
Jokic caught a pass from Michael Porter Jr. and threw down a dunk on Alperen Sengun.
In addition to his sensational dunk in the second quarter, the two-time MVP also had eight assists in the first quarter.
Jokic entered the matchup with averages of 28.8 points, 13.4 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 56.8% from the field and 31.1% from the three-point range in 17 games.
The Nuggets are 12-6 in their first 18 games, which has them as the second seed in the Western Conference.
They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak and are 5-5 over their last ten games.
At home, the Nuggets are a perfect 8-0, and they are 4-6 in the ten games they have played on the road away from Denver.
Following the Rockets, the Nuggets will go to Arizona to face off against the Phoenix Suns.
Jokic is in his ninth season in the NBA (all with the Nuggets) and has established himself as a top-five player.
Last season, the Nuggets won the 2023 NBA Championship over Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat, and they will likely be a contender to win the title again this year.
