Nikola Jokic's Hilarious Statement Is Going Viral From Denver Nuggets Parade
On Thursday afternoon, the Denver Nuggets celebrated their first-ever NBA Championship with a parade around the city.
Following their 94-89 victory over the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, two-time MVP Nikola Jokic shared a fascinating quote when asked about the upcoming parade.
Jokic: "When is parade?"
Reporter: "Thursday."
Jokic: "No, I need to go home."
That said, the superstar center appears to have changed his mind because his hilarious quote from Thursday's parade is going viral on social media.
Jokic: "You know that I told that I don't want to stay on parade, but I f**king want to stay on parade. This is the best."
At just 28 years old, the former second-round pick is already one of the greatest players of all time.
He finished the regular season with averages of 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, 9.8 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting a remarkable 63.2% from the field and 38.3% from the three-point range.
Since Jokic is in the prime of his career, and the other three best players on the team are all under 27, the Nuggets have the chance to be a contender for many more years.
They ended the regular season as the first seed in the Western Conference and had a 53-29 record.
In the NBA Playoffs, the Nuggets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves (in five games), Phoenix Suns (in six games), Los Angeles Lakers (in a sweep) and Miami Heat (in five games).
This summer, the franchise will likely have eight players hit free agency.
