On Friday evening, the Denver Nuggets are in Texas facing off against the Houston Rockets. 

During the game, Nikola Jokic made NBA history by moving up on the all-time assists list.  

Jokic came into the evening with 4,093 career assists and he has now moved ahead of Jojo White (4,095) and Bill Russell (4,100) for 117th on the list. 

Following White and Russell, the next player for Jokic to pass will be Reggie Miller (4,141). 

Jokic came into the matchup with averages of 27.5 points, 13.1 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 57.9% from the field and 30.3% from the three-point range. 

He is one of the best passers of all time and has averaged 6.7 assists per contest over 611 regular season games. 

As for the Nuggets, they are 10-5 in their first 15 games, which has them as the third seed in the Western Conference. 

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and 3-5 in the eight games they have played on the road away from Denver, Colorado. 

Most recently, the Nuggets lost to the Orlando Magic by a score of 124-119 (on Wednesday).  

Jokic played 36 minutes and had 30 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists, three steals and two blocks while shooting 12/18 from the field and 1/2 from the three-point range. 

Following the Rockets, the Nuggets will play their next game against the San Antonio Spurs at home (on Sunday). 

Last season, Jokic led the franchise to the NBA Championship over the Miami Heat.
