Nikola Jokic Reacts To Lousy Shooting Night In Rockets-Nuggets Game
On Friday evening, the Denver Nuggets hosted the Houston Rockets in Colorado.
They lost the game by a score of 114-106, which was also their first time losing at home (they are 9-1 in Colorado).
Nikola Jokic had an excellent stat line with 23 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and two blocks.
However, he shot just 9/26 from the field, which was his second straight game with a lousy shooting night.
After the game, Jokic met with the media (the full clip can be watched via Darren McKee of Altitude Sports Radio).
Jokic: "I think I took shots I always take. I didn't shoot any crazy shots or whatever. The ball just didn't want to go in."
In Wednesday's 111-102 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, Jokic shot just 9/32 from the field.
He is usually one of the most efficient players in the NBA, so his struggles have been a significant surprise.
Jokic has played in 22 games so far this season and is averaging 28.4 points, 13.0 rebounds, 9.6 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 53.5% from the field and 30.4% from the three-point range.
With the loss, the Nuggets fell to 14-9 in their first 23 games, which has them as the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
They are 5-5 over their last ten games and in the middle of a three-game losing streak.
Following the Rockets, the Nuggets will play their next game on Monday evening when they visit Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.
