OKC Thunder Sign Recent Denver Nuggets Player
Jack White spent his rookie season (last year) playing 17 games for the Denver Nuggets.
The former Duke player averaged 1.2 points and 1.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 42.1% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range.
This summer, White became a free agent, and on Thursday, the Oklahoma City Thunder officially announced that they had signed the 25-year-old.
Via The Thunder: "The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed forward Jack White to a multi-year contract and waived forward Rudy Gay, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti. Per team policy, terms of White’s agreement were not released."
In addition to his time in the NBA, White played in the G League and averaged 19.5 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 54.4% from the field and 40.9% from the three-point range in 15 regular season games (he also appeared in 12 Showcase Cup games).
On July 1, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported details of White's contract.
Via Charania: "Australian forward Jack White has agreed on a two-year deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Agent Sammy Wloszczowski of @SIGSports negotiates deal that brings the former Nuggets two-way wing to OKC."
As for the Thunder, they are coming off a season where they went 40-42 and finished as the tenth seed in the Western Conference.
They did not come into the season with expectations but were only one game away from making the 2023 NBA playoffs.
