Orlando Magic Officially Sign Exciting Player
Mac McClung is coming off a year where he appeared in two regular-season games for the Philadelphia 76ers.
McClung averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per contest while shooting 45.0% from the field and 36.4% from the three-point range.
Despite playing in just two games, the former Georgetown and Texas Tech star gained notoriety after winning the 2023 Slam Dunk Contest.
This summer, the 24-year-old became a free agent, and the Orlando Magic have officially announced that they have signed him.
Via The Magic: "ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic have signed free agent guard Mac McClung, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed."
In addition to his stellar performance in the Dunk Contest, McClung had a fantastic year in the G League.
McClung averaged 19.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest while shooting 55.0% from the field and 47.4% from the three-point range in 31 regular season games (he also appeared in 18 Showcase Cup games and four G League playoff games).
On top of his time with the 76ers, McClung has also played for the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers.
His career averages are 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest while shooting 46.2% from the field and 35.7% from the three-point range in eight regular season games.
As for the Magic, they are coming off a year where they were the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 34-48 record.
