Orlando Magic Reportedly Make A Roster Move
Admiral Schofield is coming off a season where he played 37 games for the Orlando Magic and averaged 4.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 45.1% from the field and 32.4% from the three-point range.
On Thursday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Magic will sign the former Tennessee star to another two-way contract.
Via Wojnarowski: "Free agent F Admiral Schofield has agreed to return to the Orlando Magic on a two-way deal, his agents Mark Bartelstein and George Roussakis of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Schofield has played 75 games for the Magic in the past two seasons."
In addition to the Magic, Schofield spent his rookie season playing for the Washington Wizards (he was initially the 42nd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft).
His career averages are 3.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 42.0% from the field and 32.2% from the three-point range in 108 regular season games.
The 26-year-old has played four seasons in the G League and has career averages of 14.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field and 34.2% from the three-point range in 54 regular season games (he has also approved in 14 Showcase Cup games).
As for the Magic, they are in rebuilding mode but are coming off a season where they were somewhat competitive.
They finished as the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference and had a 34-48 record.
The franchise last made the postseason in 2020 when they still had Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic on the roster.
