Police Reportedly Show Up At NBA Star Ja Morant's Home
Ja Morant has been in the news over the last few weeks after a social media video of the Memphis Grizzlies star allegedly holding a gun went viral.
He's been suspended by the Grizzlies "from all team activities," and the ruling from the league has yet to be announced.
Morant has remained quiet since the video, but on Wednesday, the All-Star point guard reportedly posted several stories to his Instagram account that had many concerned (the photos have now been deleted).
Following the alleged posts, TMZ Sports has reported that police showed up at Morant's home in Tennessee to check on him.
Via TMZ Sports' article: "Police tell TMZ Sports officers did a welfare check on Ja Morant following his cryptic social media posts on Wednesday ... and, thankfully, they discovered he is not in any danger."
While the recent events for Morant are incredibly concerning, the good news is that he is safe.
The All-Star point guard is only 23 years old and just finished his fourth season in the NBA.
He was the second pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and has led the Grizzlies to the NBA Playoffs in each of the last three seasons.
This year, they were the second seed in the Western Conference and had a 51-31 record during the regular season.
That said, they lost in the first round of the Playoffs to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.
Morant will have his five-year, $194 million contract kick in next season.
