Portland Trail Blazers Make A Roster Move
Scoot Henderson was the third pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers.
Henderson has played in five games so far this season and is averaging 8.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per contest while shooting 34.6% from the field.
However, the 19-year-old got injured and has missed each of the previous eight games.
On Tuesday, the Trail Blazers announced that he had been assigned to the G League, which could mean that a return to play is near.
Via Trail Blazers PR: "OFFICIAL: The @trailblazers have assigned guard Scoot Henderson to the @ripcityremix for return to court conditioning."
The Trail Blazers are 3-10 in their first 13 games of the new season, which has them as the 14th seed in the Western Conference.
They are in the middle of a seven-game losing streak and most recently lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder by a score of 134-91.
On Tuesday evening, the Trail Blazers will play their next game when they visit Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns in Arizona.
Despite missing the NBA playoffs for each of the previous two seasons, the Trail Blazers have been among the best teams in the Western Conference at different points over the previous ten seasons.
That said, the franchise traded away superstar point guard Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks over the offseason.
The future Hall of Famer spent the first 11 years of his career with Portland and led them to the Western Conference Finals during the 2019 season.
