Joe Biden Sends Out Viral Tweet After Denver Nuggets Win NBA Championship
On Monday evening, the Denver Nuggets won the 2023 NBA Championship when they defeated the Miami Heat (94-89) in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
The title was their first in the franchise's history (it was also the only time they have ever made the Finals).
Superstar center Nikola Jokic was brilliant throughout the postseason, and he finished the final game with 28 points, 16 rebounds, four assists and one block in 42 minutes of playing time.
In a surprise to no one, the two-time (regular season) MVP won the 2023 NBA Finals MVP Award.
Many people worldwide have posted to social media congratulating the Nuggets on their title.
On Wednesday, President Joe Biden sent out a tweet about the Nuggets that is going viral.
His post had over 15,000 likes and nearly two million impressions in less than five hours.
Biden tweeted: "Congratulations to MVP Nikola Jokić, Coach Malone, and the entire @Nuggets organization for bringing home their first-ever NBA title in the Mile High City of champions."
The Nuggets had a magical year, as they were also the first seed in the Western Conference with a 53-29 record during the regular season.
Through the first three rounds of the NBA Playoffs, they defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves (in five games), Phoenix Suns (in six games) and Los Angeles Lakers (in a sweep).
Jokic has cemented himself as one of the greatest players of all time, and he is still just 28 years old, which means the Nuggets have the chance to be a contender for many more seasons.
