Recent Charlotte Hornets Player Leaves NBA For Italy
Xavier Sneed is coming off a year where he appeared in four regular-season games for the Charlotte Hornets.
The former Kansas State star averaged 4.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 50.0% from the field and 50.0% from the three-point range (he averaged 12.0 minutes of playing time).
Last month, Sneed was waived by the Hornets, so he became a free agent.
Recently, the 25-year-old signed with New Basket Brindisi (h/t Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype).
Sneed played four seasons of college basketball for the Wildcats and averaged 10.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 39.7% from the field and 33.2% from the three-point range over 137 games.
During the 2018 season, Kansas State made the Elite 8.
Following Sneed's productive career in college, he went undrafted in 2020.
Over two seasons, he has spent time with the Memphis Grizzlies, Utah Jazz (and Hornets).
In 13 games, Sneed has a career average of 1.7 points per contest while shooting 35.0% from the field.
In addition to his time in the NBA, Sneed has also played in the G League.
His career averages are 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 38.6% from the field and 30.4% from the three-point range in 60 regular season games (he has also appeared in 12 Showcase Cup games).
As for the Hornets, they finished the year as the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 27-55 record.
