Tristan Thompson has played 12 seasons in the NBA.

This past season, he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers at the end of the year and appeared in six 2023 NBA playoff games.

In those games, Thompson averaged 1.8 points and 1.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 45.5% from the field in 5.3 minutes of playing time.

Over three weeks into NBA free agency, the former Texas star is still a free agent, available to be signed by any team in the league.

Before his stint with the Lakers, Thompson spent the 2021-22 season with the Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls.

He averaged 6.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 52.8% from the field in 57 regular season games (he also appeared in 5 NBA playoff games).

Thompson was initially the fourth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and spent the first nine seasons of his career with the franchise.

With the Cavs, he helped them win the 2016 NBA Championship over the Golden State Warriors (and made the NBA Finals four times in a row from 2015-18).

In addition to the Cavs, Kings, Pacers and Bulls, Thompson also spent one season with the Boston Celtics (2021).

His career averages are 9.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 51.9% from the field in 730 regular season games (he has also appeared in 94 NBA playoff games).

At 32, Thompson could be an excellent addition to a team that is contending for the 2024 NBA Championship.
