On Friday evening, the New York Knicks had their season come to an end when they lost Game 6 of their second-round playoff series 96-92 to the Miami Heat (on the road in Florida).

The Knicks had the chance to force a Game 7 back at Madison Square Garden in New York City if they had pulled off a victory.

RJ Barrett finished the game with 11 points, two rebounds and one assist in 32 minutes of playing time.

However, the former Duke star shot just 1/10 from the field and 0/3 from the three-point range.

After the game, he met with the media and was extremely honest about his struggles.

Barrett: "I played terrible. I was very disappointed in just how I played today. I don't know. It's a lot right now. You fight for something, and you want something so bad."

While the loss was disappointing, Barrett helped the Knicks make the NBA Playoffs in two out of the last three seasons.

In addition, they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round, which was the franchise's first time winning a playoff series since the 2013 season.

Barrett finished the 2022-23 regular season with averages of 19.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest while shooting 43.4% from the field.

He is only 22 years old, and this was his fourth season as a pro, so the future is very bright for Barrett.

As for the Heat, they will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals and face off against either the Boston Celtics or the Philadelphia 76ers.
