Russell Westbrook Can Make NBA History In Clippers-Suns Game 1

Russell Westbrook can make NBA history during Sunday's game.

On Sunday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers will be in Arizona to face off with the Phoenix Suns for Game 1 of their first-round series.

During the game, Russell Westbrook has a chance to make NBA history by moving up on the all-time playoff scoring list.

The 2017 MVP has 2,727 points in 111 NBA Playoff games, which ranks 38th on the list.

He is only 23 points away from moving ahead of Hall of Famer Ray Allen (2,749) for 37th.

Westbrook averaged 15.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.0 steals per contest during the regular season (he scored 23+ points in 13 out of his 73 games).

The nine-time NBA All-Star began his year with the Los Angeles Lakers but was traded to the Utah Jazz, who waived him (he then signed with the Clippers).

He is one of the greatest players to ever play in the NBA and will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer one day.

At 34 years old, the former UCLA star is no longer a superstar, but he is a productive player who helped the Clippers finish as the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 44-38 record.

Before the Clippers and Lakers, Westbrook had stints with the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.

His career averages are a sensational 22.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 1.6 steals per contest in 1,094 regular season games.

The Clippers and Suns faced off two times this season, and both teams went 2-2.
