Russell Westbrook Made NBA History In Trail Blazers-Clippers Game
On Monday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers are hosting the Portland Trail Blazers in California.
During the game, Russell Westbrook made NBA history by moving up on the all-time regular season games played list.
Westbrook is playing in his 1,116th career game, which ties Zach Randolph for 72nd on the list.
Following Randolph, the next player for Westbrook to pass will be Rick Mahorn (1,117).
Westbrook came into the evening with averages of 11.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 43.2% from the field and 27.3% from the three-point range in 21 games.
The Clippers are 11-10 in their first 21 games, which has them as the ninth seed in the Western Conference.
They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak and are 7-3 over their last ten games.
Most recently, the Clippers defeated the Utah Jazz by a score of 117-103.
In 17 minutes of playing time, Westbrook had five points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks while shooting 2/7 from the field and 1/2 from the three-point range.
Westbrook was the fourth pick in the 2008 NBA Draft out of UCLA and is in his 16th season in the league.
The 2017 MVP has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards (in addition to the Clippers).
