Russell Westbrook Made NBA History In Clippers-Kings Game

Russell Westbrook moved up on the NBA's all-time games played list.

On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers are facing off against the Kings in Sacramento.

2017 MVP Russell Westbrook is playing in his 1,157th career game, which moves ahead of Tree Rollins for sole possession of 61st on the NBA's all-time regular season games played list.

Following Rollins, the next player for Westbrook to pass will be Johnny Newman (1,159).

Westbrook is no longer in his prime but is still an extremely productive role player.

He came into the evening with averages of 10.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 45.1% from the field and 26.1% from the three-point range in 62 games (10 starts).

The Clippers have also been among the best teams in the NBA and are the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 47-27 record in 74 games.

They have gone 6-4 over their last ten games and are in the middle of a three-game winning streak.

Following their matchup with the Kings, the Clippers will play their next game on Thursday evening when they return home to host Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in California.

Westbrook was the fourth pick in the 2008 NBA Draft out of UCLA and is in his 16th season in the league.

In addition to the Clippers, he has also spent time with the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.

His career averages are 21.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field and 30.4% from the three-point range.
