On Wednesday, Russell Westbrook met with the media for the first time as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers.

The 2017 MVP had spent the last year and a half playing for the Los Angeles Lakers before being traded to the Utah Jazz earlier this month.

After getting bought out of his contract with the Jazz, he signed with the Clippers

By joining the Clippers, he reunites with All-Star forward Paul George (they were teammates on the Oklahoma City Thunder for two seasons).

They made the NBA Playoffs both seasons, and George played some of the best basketball of his career with Westbrook as his point guard.

When Westbrook met with the media, he was asked about his relationship with George.

Westbrook: "Paul is just a great person overall, and besides the basketball stuff. Our kids are very close, our families are close and our parents, and that alone creates a great bond, a brotherhood."

Having that kind of relationship will likely lead to good chemistry for the Clippers on the floor.

Right now, Westbrook is averaging 15.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.0 steals per contest in 52 games.

After spending his entire career as a starter, the former UCLA star came off the bench for the majority of the season.

The Clippers went into the All-Star break with a 33-28 record in 61 games, which has them as the fourth seed in the Western Conference.

They will play their next game on Friday night when they host the Sacramento Kings.
