Deonte Burton is coming off a year where he appeared in two games for the Sacramento Kings

Despite his limited time in the NBA last year, Burton played in the G League for the Stockton Kings.

The 29-year-old averaged 12.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 54.0% from the field and 40.6% from the three-point range in 28 regular season games (he also appeared in five Showcase Cup games and one G League playoff game).

This summer, Burton was a free agent, and Brenden Nunes of Sactown Sports 1140 reports that he has signed with the Kings.

Via Nunes: "According to a league source, the Sacramento Kings have signed Deonte Burton.

In Burton's 33 games with Stockton last season he averaged 11.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists on 52/41/79 shooting."

In addition to the Kings, Burton has also played for the Oklahoma City Thunder (two seasons).

His career averages are 2.5 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest while shooting 36.4% from the field and 22.2% from the three-point range in 73 regular season games (he has also appeared in four NBA playoff games).

As for the Kings, they are coming off an impressive year where they finished as the third seed in the Western Conference with a 48-34 record.

They made the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2006 season, which ended the longest drought in the league.

In the first round, the Kings lost to the Golden State Warriors in seven games.
