Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's Injury Status For Rockets-Thunder Game
On Wednesday evening, the Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Houston Rockets in Oklahoma.
For the game, the Thunder will be without their best player, as All-Star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been ruled out.
Via ESPN's Tim MacMahon: "OKC star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is sitting out tonight against the Rockets due to a right quad contusion. SGA has been playing through the injury since taking a knee to the quad a week ago."
Gilgeous-Alexander is in the middle of an excellent season with averages of 30.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.1 steals per contest while shooting 54.0% from the field and 36.7% from the three-point range in 70 games.
The Thunder are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 50-21 record in 71 games.
They have gone 8-2 over their last ten games and most recently beat the New Orleans Pelicans by a score of 119-112.
Gilgeous-Alexander finished his night with 24 points, five rebounds, eight assists and two steals while shooting 9/20 from the field and 1/3 from the three-point range in 38 minutes of playing time.
Following the Rockets, the Thunder will remain at home to host the Phoenix Suns on Friday evening in Oklahoma City.
As for the Rockets, they are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 36-35 record in 71 games.
They are in the middle of a nine-game winning streak.
Following Oklahoma City, the Rockets will play their next game on Friday evening when they visit the Utah Jazz.
